Industrial landscapes continued – water tower in Chinese ink

An ink painting of water storage tower – my own expression of a subject that seemed to be exhausted by Bernd And Hilla Becher in their famous series of industrial motifs such as water towers, furnaces, pitheads and other structures. The Bechers travelled the world in search of those leftovers of industrial age – starting in Germany, they also photographed decaying industrial sites in the UK, France and USA. Check out their water towers. They also influenced well-established fine art photographers such as Andreas Gursky, Candida Hoefer, Thomas Struth and Edward Burtynsky.
